The Sri Lanka Navy bade farewell to Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe on 09th November 2024, who relinquished his duties after 34 years of dedicated service. The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera, along with the Board of Management, extended their best wishes to the retiring senior officer, who was celebrating his 55th birthday that day.

Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions. As the customary event concluded, fellow naval officers made their formal farewells before he was sent off in a motorcade amidst the cheers of naval personnel.

Rear Admiral Rohitha Abeysinghe joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 8th Intake of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University in 1990. Throughout his distinguished naval career, he held a variety of commanding roles onboard Fast Attack Craft, ships, and at various establishments across the country.
