About Me

{I am Bandula Abeyratne. Joined KDA Intake VII on 14th November 1989, as a Service Cadet. My Service Number was 1351 and in the Alpha Troop. After the first year's exam I managed to be with in first 10 of the merit list and had the opportunity to request the Service I preferred, Air Force. My Air Force Cadet number was 10596. After completing the relevant training I received my Commission in 1991 November in the branch of Technical Engineering. ( 01745 ) I received my Degree from KDA in 1992. While serving in the Air Force I had the previllage to enlist at University of Peradeniya to read a Degree in Engineering and obtained B Sc ( Engineering ) in Mechanical stream in 1998. During my tenure in the Air Force I held many appointments and oversea training. I retired from the air force in year 2011 after completing 22 years of Service. My last appointment was Officer Commanding Maintenance at No 4 VVIP/VIP Helicopter Squadron. In 2012 January I had the opportunity to join State Engineering Corporation as Deputy General Manager ( Mechanical/Electrical ) and served for 3 years before migrating to New Zealand. At the moment I am working at Babcock New Zealand, and we are the proud Maintenance partner of Royal New Zealand Navy Fleet. My wife is a Software Test Analysis and we are blessed with two sons and a daughter.}
