{I, Rear Admiral Chandana Rathnayake and presently holding the appointment of Director General Logistics of the Sri Lanka Navy. I joined the Sri Lanka Navy as Officer Cadet of 06th intake at Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy on 06th October 1988 an completed my basic training. I was commissioned in to the Logistics Branch of Regular Naval Force on 05th October 1990 as an Acting Sub Lieutenant. Subsequently, I followed my Sub Lieutenant Technical Course at Naval and Maritime Academy (1992), International Junior Officer Supply Course at United Kingdom (1996), Long Logistics Management Course at INS Hamla (2002 – 2003) and Command and Staff Course at Naval War College United States of America (2006). Also, I has earned my basic degree from Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and obtained Master of Business Administration in Logistics Management from University of Goa. Presently I am a research scholar at Sir John Kotelawala Defence University and reading for my MPhil / PhD.}
