    About Me

    Native from Battaramulla. Studied at President's College Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte (earlier at Torrington ,Colombo 7). Joined as an Officer Cadet to the 9th Intake of General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (then KDA) on 17 November 1991.  Received 'Sword of Honour' being the Best Midshipman. Graduated from KDU in the year 1995 with a Second Class Lower. Received the award for 'Best Student Officer in International Relations'. Passed Staff College (psc) in 2007. First Sri Lanka Navy Officer to receive the 'Golden Owl' and 'Commandant's Honours' from the Defence Services Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka. Obtained Chartered Engineer status in July 2010 from the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka.  Authorized Surveyor of Pressure Vessels appointed by the Department of Labour, Sri Lanka. Successfully completed 'National Security & Strategic Studies Course' (ndc) at National Defence College, Sri Lanka in 2023.  Married and blessed with two sons.
