{I am a dynamic and results-oriented mechanical and maintenance engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical engineering and a passion for project management. Currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Hayleys Advantis Limited, I lead the Maintenance Engineering Divisions across 13 warehouses, including Sri Lanka's largest distribution center. My role involves managing a team of maintenance personnel, overseeing various maintenance processes, and implementing energy-efficient initiatives to reduce the company's carbon footprint. I have also led significant projects such as the Water Cost Reduction Project and the ALC Phase 2 Expansion, earning recognition for my contributions to the industry. University Experience: My time at General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University was foundational in shaping my career. The rigorous curriculum in mechanical engineering, combined with practical training, equipped me with the technical expertise and strategic mindset needed to excel in the industry. I also pursued an MSc in Project Management from the University of Bedfordshire, further enhancing my ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects. Advice to Current Students: Take every opportunity to engage in hands-on projects and internships. Real-world experience is invaluable and complements the theoretical knowledge you gain in the classroom.
